Mad engagement from a Mad persona is a valuable resource that remains largely absent from academy musings on mental illness. Leveraging a clever combination of Canadian social work theory, literary sociopolitical theory, and sociological deconstructive methods derived from psychopharmacological papers; I repurpose reportings from psychiatry, medical humanities, health humanities and literary creative nonfiction to produce the MAD MANIFESTO: a critical engagement with mental ill/wellness in university classrooms & how to activate positive pedagogical change from within.
